Shift Supervisor

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

• Supervising and directing the activities of the staff during the assigned shift. This includes assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring that employees follow company policies and procedures.
• Handle customer complaints or inquiries and work to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Training new employees, teaching them about Dairy Queen’s products, food safety protocols, and customer service standards.
• Monitoring and managing inventory levels, ordering routine supplies.
• Responsible for opening and closing the cash register, handling cash transactions accurately, and reconciling cash drawers at the end of the shift.
• Ensure that food products are prepared and served according to Dairy Queen’s standards for quality and safety.
• Oversee cleanliness and maintenance tasks to ensure that the restaurant is in good condition and complies with health and safety regulations.
• Address issues that arise during the assigned shift, such as equipment malfunctions, staffing problems, or customer complaints.
• Promoting special offers or upselling menu items to increase sales.

Specific Job Requirements

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• 7-12 months experience in food preparation or service is required. Supervisory experience will be considered as an asset
• Requires good communication skills in English Language. Ability to deal with customers and food service employees.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires standing, and walking the entire workday.
