Position:  Interlocking and Deck installer
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: Field, in and around the Greater Toronto Area
Reporting office: 2627 Windjammer Rd, Mississauga, ON L5L 1H7
Salary: $34.50 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP.
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 30-40 Hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Prepare work areas by measuring and marking layout designs for interlock and deck installations
  • Install a variety of interlocking stone and paving materials such as concrete pavers, bricks, natural stone, and slabs for walkways, patios, and driveways
  • Construct wooden and composite decks, including framing, securing posts, railings, and surface boards, using power and hand tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints, project drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and quality installation
  • Use equipment such as saws, tampers, compactors, levels, drills, and other tools required for installation
  • Pour and finish concrete bases or footings where required for interlocking or deck support structures
  • Ensure installations are level, properly aligned, and meet structural and safety standards
  • Maintain and clean tools & equipment used on job sites
  • Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment while on site
  • Report progress, delays, or issues encountered on job sites

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • 7-12 months experience in landscaping, carpentry, interlocking and/or deck  installation is required.
  • Physically demanding work requires to stand/move or work on areas hard to reach for the entire shift. Hand eye coordination is required.
  • Weight handling up to 100 lbs
