Cabinetmaker

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine specifications and layout for cabinets.
• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using measuring tools and layout instruments.
• Set up and operate woodworking machines like table saws, jointers, planers, shapers to cut, shape, and form wood and wood substitutes.
• Assemble and join cabinet parts using fasteners, adhesives, and clamps to build complete units.
• Fit and install hardware components such as hinges, drawer slides, and handles.
• Sand wooden surfaces using hand or power tools; apply veneers, stains, or protective finishes as required.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure precision, fit, and finish according to project specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and perform routine maintenance on woodworking tools and equipment.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Minimum 7-12 months of experience as a Cabinetmaker is required.
• Must have experience working with power saws, jointers and shapers.
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Team oriented individual with demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and self-directed.
• Weight handling up to 50 lbs
