| Salary: | $36.50 per hour–The gross salary paid is subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions. |
| Other benefits: | Optional Group insurance benefits including medical, dental and eye care coverage on a cost sharing basis would be offered upon completion of three months of employment period with the organization |
| Vacation: | 4% of the gross salary |
| Hours of Work: | 30-40 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week |
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding process specifications.
- Set up and use manual and semi-automatic welding equipment with techniques such as GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, PAW, OAW, resistance welding, SAW, and aluminum welding (GMAW).
- Perform cutting, brazing, and soldering operations as required.
- Operate and monitor metal shaping machines, including brakes, shears, straightening, and bending machines.
- Weld and assemble structural and custom steel components to required specifications.
- Prepare, align, and fit steel parts for welding, ensuring proper tolerances.
- Repair worn or damaged metal parts by welding additional layers.
- Conduct pre- and post-weld inspections to verify weld quality and compliance with standards.
- Maintain welding equipment by performing routine maintenance and basic repairs.
- Follow health and safety procedures and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
Employment Requirements
- Completion of Secondary school is required.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including GMAW (including aluminum welding), FCAW, SMAW, PAW, OAW, resistance welding, and SAW.
- Minimum one-year experience as a welder, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of steel materials, fabrication tolerances, and quality standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Weight handling of up to 50lbs
