Work Location: Field; In and around the Greater Toronto Area
Reporting address: 16 Smoothrock Trail, Brampton, ON L6R 0S2
Salary: $36.00 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal & Provincial income taxes & other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP.
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 30-35 hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Interpreting drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and framing requirements.
  • Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood according to design specifications.
  • Assembling and constructing structural frameworks, such as walls, floors, and ceilings, using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Verifying the accuracy of dimensions and ensuring that the framing components are level, plumb, and square.
  • Identifying and addressing any issues or defects in the framing structure, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Working with power tools, hand tools, and equipment such as nail guns, saws, and levels.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area throughout the framing process.
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors, team members, and other tradespeople.
  • Adhering to project schedules and deadlines, while maintaining a high standard of work quality.

Employment Requirements

  • At least One year experience as a Framing carpenter in the new home or renovation construction is required.
  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Physically demanding work requires to stand/move for the entire shift. Must be able to climb the ladder. Hand eye coordination is required.
  • Weight handling up to 100 lbs
  • Basic communication skills in English language with an ability to take instructions from the supervisor and to communicate with the customer.
