Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose and test malfunctioning electric heaters and elements, temperature control systems, pressure and temperature sensors, thermostats, relays and hot runner modules.
- Troubleshoot issues such as heating failure, control malfunctions, and electrical faults using standard diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Install, repair, recondition, calibrate, and replace electrical heating components (cartridge heaters, band heaters, coil heaters, immersion heaters, flexible heaters, etc.).
- Assist in servicing and repairing temperature control panels, including wiring, switches, relays, controllers, fuses, and sensors.
- Assemble and service heating systems according to company specifications, technical drawings, and electrical safety standards.
- Install and test temperature and pressure sensors (RTDs, thermocouples, digital devices), ensuring proper functionality and accuracy.
- Perform operational testing to verify system performance, electrical continuity, and safe operation.
- Complete service reports, basic documentation, and parts usage records accurately.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and identify common repair or replacement needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and workplace policies.
- Assist with on-site service and repair work at customer locations as required.
Employment Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting electric heating systems, temperature control equipment, and related industrial electrical components is required.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits, control wiring, PID controllers, solid-state relays, fuses, thermocouples, RTDs, and digital temperature control devices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings.
- Completion of secondary school required.
- Moderate communication skills in oral and written English are required with an ability to complete service reports, diagnostic records, and parts usage logs accurately.
