Position: Level 2 Mechanic; Electrical Motor Repair
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: 1341 Matheson Blvd E, Mississauga, ON L4W 1R1
Salary: $36.00 per hour. The gross salary paid has been subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: 4% of gross salary amount
Hours of Work: 30-40 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and test malfunctioning electric motors, servo motors, stepper motors, DC motors, AC motors and related electromechanical equipment.
  • Conduct detailed mechanical inspections of components such as shafts, bearings, housings, and assemblies to assess wear, alignment, and operational integrity.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues including vibration, overheating, noise, and misalignment using appropriate diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
  • Disassemble, repair, rebuild, and reassemble motor components such as rotors, stators, commutators, bearings, couplings, and braking systems using specialized tools and fixtures.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex or escalated technical issues that cannot be addressed by junior technicians, ensuring timely and effective repair solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and hands-on support to junior and apprentice technicians, including demonstrating repair techniques, troubleshooting methods, and safe work practices.
  • Review work completed by junior technicians to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Complete detailed service reports, inspection records, and repair documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.

Employment Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical motor repair, diagnostics, and testing is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of industrial motor components and drive systems.
  • Experience mentoring or assisting junior technicians is considered a strong asset.
  • Effective communication skills in English (written and verbal) to accurately complete technical reports and documentation.
  • Completion of secondary school is required.
