Catering Supervisor

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

• Train, and supervise catering staff, including servers and kitchen staff.
• Coordinate the logistics of catering events, including scheduling, staffing, and equipment.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their catering needs and preferences.
• Assign duties and responsibilities to staff members for each event.
• Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and adherence to company standards.
• Interact with clients and guests during events to ensure their needs are met.
• Address any customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Ensure that clients and guests have a positive dining experience.
• Coordinate beverage service, including ordering and maintaining inventory.
• Ensure that all catering staff adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly organized and set up.
• Oversee the cleanup and removal of equipment and supplies after events.
• Maintain records of client contracts, event details, and staffing schedules.
• Prepare reports on catering operations and performance.

Specific Job Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in food preparation or service is required. Supervisory experience will be considered as an asset
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Requires excellent communication skills in English, ability to deal with all levels of employees and to resolve customer complaints/issues
