| Salary: | $22.00 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP. |
| Vacation: | 4% of the gross salary |
| Hours of Work: | 35-44 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week |
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Supervise and oversee the tasks of station attendants/storekeepers, while assuming responsibility for the overall operation of the designated shift at the site, which includes both the gas station and convenience store.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to staff members.
- Provide training and coaching to team members to ensure they perform their duties effectively.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of fuel dispensers, cash registers, and other equipment.
- Monitor fuel inventory levels and place orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock.
- Responsible for accurate cash handling, including cash register reconciliation and ensuring proper change is available for customers.
- Perform end-of-shift cash audits and report any discrepancies.
- Receive and manage inventory deliveries.
- Monitor and control inventory levels to minimize losses due to theft or spoilage.
- Perform inventory counts as required.
- Greet and assist customers promptly and courteously.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and satisfactory manner.
- Handle cash and receipts for the sale of merchandise by performing duties such as counting the float, balancing cash, sorting and securing cash.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Specific skills required for the position:
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Possess an understanding and working knowledge of MS Office suite to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
Education and Experience Requirements
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- 7-12 months experience as a cashier/attendant/stock worker in a retail sales environment is required. Supervisory experience in a similar work setting will be considered as an asset.
