| Hours of Work: | 35-40 hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week |
Major Responsibilities
- Help mechanic perform maintenance and repairs such as tune-ups and oil changes, check tires and brakes, replaces spark plugs and engages in other simple tasks.
- Assists mechanic with electrical systems such as replacing batteries, starters, and lights.
- Cleans the shop and returns tools to proper location.
- Change engine oil and lubricate running gears or moving parts of trucks
- Inspecting and assessing tire tread levels, wear patterns, valve quality, and overall health.
- Repairing punctures and replacing faulty valves.
- Installing new tires.
- Balancing tires and completing wheel alignment procedures.
- Maintaining equipment.
- Assist in conducting road-side repairs as required.
Requirements
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Related experience in Automotive repair is preferred. Candidates willing to learn with mechanical aptitude will be trained.
- Ability to use variety of tools and equipment.
- Low to Basic English language to understand work instructions.
- Team oriented individual with demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and self-directed.
- Ability to handle weight up to 100 lbs
