| Vacation: | 4% of the gross salary |
| Hours of Work: | 35-44 Hours a week. |
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Yemeni cuisine dishes, including Mandi lamb & chicken, Mova fish and Sahawaq etc.
- Blend and grind spices like cumin, coriander, black pepper, and cinnamon to create the base for dishes.
- Marinate meats with spices, yogurt, and lemon juice to enhance flavor and tenderness.
- Follow the specific recipes for the dishes. Many Yemeni dishes involve slow cooking or simmering to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas and ensure that all ingredients & kitchen adhere to our safety standards and health standards.
- Estimate food requirements and costs and ensure there are adequate supplies for the forthcoming events
Specific Job Requirements
- 3-6 months of cooking experience in Yemeni cuisine dishes
- Completion of Secondary School is required
- Demonstration and experience of use of standard concepts and practices in handling/rotating food supplies
