Employer Name: R&S City Contractors Inc. Position: Bookkeeper Duration: Full Time Location: 20 Wannamaker Cres #203, Cambridge, ON N3E 0C4 Salary: $25.00 per hour. The gross salary paid is subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions. Vacation: 4% of the gross salary Hours of Work: 32-35 Hours a week; overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable by processing invoices, issuing payments, and tracking receivables.
- Checking figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
- Enter financial transactions into accounting software or ledgers from various sources such as invoices, receipts, and bank statements.
- Ensure that all financial records match with bank statements and other financial documents. Reconcile any discrepancies.
- Calculate and process payments for subcontractors and employees.
- Posting journal entries and maintaining a balanced general ledger.
- Account reconciliations using the company accounting system and excel.
- Examine and finish the month-end reporting for management to review.
Specific Job Requirements
- Completion of secondary school is required. College level education with subjects related to accounting/bookkeeping preferred.
- Prior experience ranging 3-6 Months in an accounting or financial reporting role is required.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and general accounting software
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
