Position:  Front Desk/Reservations Supervisor
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: 441 Bryne Drive, Barrie, ON L4N 6C8
Salary: $21.50 per hour; The gross salary is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: Two weeks per year
Hours of Work: 32-44 hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the front desk, including check-in, check-out, reservations, and guest inquiries.
  • Supervising tasks and offering guidance, training, and assistance to hotel associates, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring exceptional customer service delivery to guests. Handling guest complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Monitoring room availability, managing reservations, and ensuring accurate guest information is recorded.
  • Overseeing cash handling procedures, including handling guest payments, managing petty cash, and balancing cash drawers.
  • Liaising with other hotel departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Conducting training sessions for the staff to improve their skills and knowledge of hotel operations and customer service.
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of front desk supplies, such as stationery, key cards, and promotional materials.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards, as well as local regulations and laws related to the hospitality industry.
  • Monitoring the cleanliness and appearance of the front desk area and ensuring that it meets brand standards.

Specific Job Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • 7-12 months experience in a front desk or hospitality industry is required. Supervisory experience in a similar work setting is desired.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills in English language.
