Location: 5230 South Service Road, Unit 107, Burlington, ON, L7L 5K2
Salary: $30.00 – $31.00/hr
Hours of Work: 40 Hours a week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Creating detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software based on sketches, specifications, and other inputs provided by engineers or architects.
  • Transforming rough sketches, drawings, and specifications into detailed CAD drawings for construction.
  • Reviewing drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company standards and industry regulations.
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects, and other professionals to understand project requirements and make necessary adjustments to drawings.
  • Organizing and maintaining project files, including drawings, specifications, and revisions.
  • Making revisions to drawings as needed based on feedback from clients, engineers, or architects.
  • Identifying and resolving design issues or discrepancies that may arise during the drafting process.
  • Keeping up-to-date with advances in drafting technology, software, and industry trends.
  • Assist in in material requisition, costing for subcontractors or end clients
  • Provide design support to the construction teams as requested with drawings and codes
  • Fulfill any other duties as assigned.

Desired skills and requirements

  • A degree or diploma in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience of at least one-year working as a drafting technician is required.
  • Minimum one-year Canadian experience working with architectural/construction drawings
  • Must have proficiency with the software: AutoCAD 2D/3D & Autodesk Revit
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Team oriented individual with demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and self-directed.
