| Salary: | $25.00 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal & Provincial income taxes & other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP. |
| Vacation: | 4% of the gross salary |
| Hours of Work: | 32-40 hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week |
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Helping to prepare the work area by moving furniture, removing old flooring materials, and cleaning the surface to be covered.
- Carrying and transporting flooring materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site.
- Assisting with cutting flooring materials to the appropriate size and shape using tools such as a utility knife, scissors, or power saws.
- Assisting the lead installer with laying flooring materials according to the specified pattern/design, spreading adhesive, positioning tiles or planks, and ensuring proper alignment.
- Helping to trim and finish the edges of flooring materials for a clean and professional appearance.
- Cleaning up debris and waste materials from the job site, including vacuuming or sweeping the area to ensure it is left clean and safe.
- Taking the opportunity to learn from experienced installers, asking questions, and seeking guidance to improve skills and knowledge in floorcovering installation.
Employment Requirements
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Physically demanding work requires to stand/move or work on areas hard to reach for the entire shift. Must be able to climb the ladder. Hand eye coordination is required.
- Weight handling up to 100 lbs
- On the job training will be provided.
