Job Overview

Employer:  2470970 Ontario Inc. O/A Fresh Hospitality Group (Multi-unit franchisee of Tim Hortons restaurants)
Position:  Service Technician
Duration/Type: Permanent/Full Time; Field based job requiring working at multiple Tim Hortons locations within GTA and Brantford Area.
Head Office/Reporting office: 7171 Torbram Road, Unit 44 & 45, Mississauga, Ontario, L4T 3W4
Salary: $28.00-$30.00 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP.
Other Benefits: Group insurance benefits including medical, dental and eye care coverage on a 50% cost sharing basis would be offered upon completion of six months of employment period with the organization
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 35.0-44.00 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing equipment & systems used in the stores, such as coffee machines, ovens, refrigeration units, sign boards, menu displays, cash registers, drive through systems.
  • Diagnose issues with equipment and systems and develop solutions to address them promptly.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment & ensure they operate efficiently.
  • Provide training to store staff on proper equipment usage, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols to prevent equipment damage and ensure optimal performance.
  • Communicate with store managers to coordinate maintenance schedules, order parts, and to address equipment-related issues.
  • Follow company policies and procedures related to equipment maintenance, safety, and hygiene to uphold the quality and cleanliness standards of Tim Hortons.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to track equipment performance and future maintenance needs.
  • Assist in new installations. Test newly installed equipment to verify functionality, performance, and safety, and calibrate settings as needed to meet operational requirements.

Specific Job Requirements

  • A college level diploma in the field related to mechanical, electrical or maintenance is required.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various equipment used in a restaurant setting, such as coffee machines, ovens, refrigeration units, and other kitchen appliances.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, mechanical components to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.
  • Ability to quickly identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • 4-6 months experience and knowledge of equipment & systems used in a Tim Hortons restaurant is required.
  • Requires moderate proficiency in English language.
