Employer:  Store 530 & Service Inc. O/A The UPS Store
Position:  Store Supervisor
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: 1280 Steeles Ave E, Milton, ON L9T 6R1
Salary: $22.00 per hour; The gross salary is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: Two weeks per year
Hours of Work: 35-44 hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of the store associates, training them, assigning duties/areas, and preparing work schedules.
  • Managing and tracking inventory levels of shipping supplies and retail products.
  • Placing orders for supplies as needed.
  • Complying with UPS shipping guidelines and procedures.
  • Promoting UPS services and products to customers.
  • Implementing marketing initiatives to attract new customers.
  • Handling cash and credit card transactions.
  • Balancing cash registers and reconciling daily sales.
  • Ensuring the store premises are safe and secure for both customers and employees.
  • Using computer systems and point-of-sale software to process transactions and print shipping labels.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry regulations and changes.
  • Handling administrative duties such as record-keeping, filing, and reporting.
  • Managing paperwork related to shipments, customer orders, and employee records.
  • Educating customers on proper packaging methods and shipping options.
  • Providing guidance on international shipping requirements and customs documentation.
  • Resolving operational issues and challenges as they arise.
  • Finding solutions to customer problems and inquiries.

Specific Job Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • 7-12 months experience in a retail or customer service role is required. Supervisory experience in a similar work setting is desired.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills in English language.
